PMAD’s: Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Treatment
Most new moms experience the “baby blues” - crying, sadness, exhaustion, guilt, emptiness, withdrawal from family and friends, and more. If it is been more than two weeks after delivery and the “baby blues” just aren’t going away, you may be in the twenty percent of moms that experience PMAD’s.
Having both researched and experienced postpartum depression I work with new moms to combine strategies for this wonderful and challenging time of life. We’ll figure out what is working and what is not and I’ll share tools to help you navigate difficult moments and feelings. I am a Postpartum Support International (PSA) and Seleni Institute trained therapist and using research-based best practices we can work together to find joy in motherhood.

Each person's needs in therapy can vary. You may want to build a deeper connection with yourself through self-awareness and self-compassion. You may notice a desire to relate to the people around in you in a different or healthier way.

DEPRESSION
Depression can feel like a dark tunnel, or a hundred bricks weighing you down. There are paths out of that tunnel and ways to lift those bricks. We can work together to REBALANCE your life and find that emotional steadiness and stability.

Couples face many issues including communication, navigating parenting difficulties, infidelity, addiction. and more. Using Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottman method, I work together with couples to help them achieve their goals.
FAMILY THERAPY
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I see the family system as a whole. If one member of the family is suffering the whole family may be suffering. Families can benefit from therapy when they experience any stressful event. You may have experienced a loss in your family, or financial hardship, a divorce, or remarriage. I am here to help families negotiate these stressful events and find effective strategies to bring these RELATIONSHIPS back into harmony.
PARENTING DIFFICULTIES
I have children ranging in age from elementary school to graduate studies. I combine my personal parenting experiences with training to bridge the divide between parents and children.
